What did I see on my walk today? Endless prayer flags!

I am currently holidaying in Mussoorie, a hill station in the Indian Himalayas, where it is way cooler than Delhi (where I live) which is lovely.

Sorry, dear Delhi readers…don’t mean to crow!

This is also the week when, after following my physio’s orders (for once!!) not to walk for a few weeks, I was cleared to re-start walking.

Since the stupid hamstring is more or less behaving itself, I have gradually increased my mileage each day and today I tackled the steepest walk of the week – heading up Dalai Hill in Mussoorie. So a double whammy of miles and altitude. And jolly good it felt, too!

We walked through part of Waverley, down past all the smart buildings of the Indian Administrative Service training set-up, and then climbed up steep steps through hundreds and hundreds of prayer flags to this beautiful statue:

I love prayer flags so walking through an archway of them was great fun:

Cannot wait till I can restart running, but this first week of getting back to walking has been wonderful.

Onwards and upwards…well, that’s what I prayed for at the top of Dalai Hill. :)
