Paraphrasing the inimitable Virginia Woolf, today I want to give a shout out to my lil’ room of my own 🙂
Well – actually it’s a basement, rather than a room.
And it’s in my mother-in-law’s house.
So yeah, you’re right, it’s not really a room of my own at all 😛 😛
But let’s not get too bogged down in definitions, shall we, and simply celebrate my wee lil’ home gym’s first birthday today?
It’s been a year since I turfed all the junk out of the basement.
Gradually I had it poshed up. Painting, mats, mirror, equipment, shelves, whiteboard – the list grew of the things absolutely needed to make my little gym work 🙂
In the ensuing year, I’ve had health and fitness ups and downs, but the joy of exercising has not lessened one iota.
I get SUCH a kick out to toddling down to “the gym” and every time I go down there I feel happy.
Honest to God.
I have NO idea whether the space has good energy or good “vaastu” but what I know for sure is that it works for me.
Some days I go down and do just a few minutes stretching or exercising, and it’s at moments like that I realise what a privilege it is to have a room of one’s own.
Even if it is just someone else’s basement.
Love it all – the gym, the attitude, and you!
