Happy New Year to you and yours, and here’s hoping that 2022 is a better year than 2021…admittedly, 2021 set the bar very low, so we can but hope.
I had some major health issues in 2021 (not Covid) but throughout it all I kept walking, and running, whenever I could.
I swear that exercising and the discipline of going outside every day helped steer me through sickness and the inevitable feeling-sorry-for-myself days.
So, regardless of what 2022 has in store (she crosses her fingers as she types) I am even more determined than ever to keep fit and to keep moving.
I kickstarted the year by going for a slow 5 1/2km walk around central Delhi this morning, in the excellent company of one of my running friends, Ripu Daman Bevli, who is recovering from injury and so was happy to walk.
It was fr-fr-freezing, but sunny, there was little traffic, and so pretty perfect conditions for a slow, leisurely saunter around the Lodhi Art District.
It’s been over 2 years since I last visited this part of town, and sad to say a lot of the street art is looking a bit frayed around the edges and neglected, but it’s still such fun part of town.
So – first day of the year and mission accomplished 🙂
And yes, of course we posed for a few daft photos:
So there we are, folks.
Day One of a new year, with sights set firmly on getting stronger, staying healthy and tackling whatever 2022 throws in this direction.
We can do this!
