What did you see on your run today? #427 comes from London

Even before I saw the comment my London-based friend Alison attached to her photo of Richmond Park yesterday, I thought how dried up the grass looked – almost African savannah-esque:

“Not the savannah! Richmond Park” was Ali’s comment on her photo

There’s definitely a hint of Africa (where, incidentally both Ali & I lived, through not at the same time)…or perhaps it’s wishful thinking on my part, grounded as we all are here in India.

With a bit of imagination, these London deer (below) could almost be plains game…impala grazing on the savannahs of east Africa…

yes, anyway, back to reality!

Alison checked out “her” goslings, who she has seen from the hatching stage, a couple of months ago:

There’s something truly special about encountering wild animals living in a city park, and I certainly love these regular Richmond Park updates. They are a welcome glimpse into a world outside Delhi.
