What did you see on your run today? #320 is super special!
This post is super special, because it marks the return to running of one of the nicest girls out there and, incidentally, the girl who got me into running 4 years ago, the now uninjured Kathakoli Dasgupta.
Katha, who left Delhi with her British husband Dave a couple of years ago now lives in England. Sidelined by a cycling injury, Katha marked her return to running form with a picturesque run through the streets of Madrid.
Here is Katha’s happy report of her first run in 4 months 🙂
“In Madrid for a holiday and I did my first run since I broke my foot 4 months back. The weather was perfect at 16 degrees, as was the location. Dave the planner found me a huge park with trails to save my feet from the unforgiving tarmac. The 1.8k leading up to Casa de Campo (the park) offers fabulous views of the Palacio Real (Royal Palace) and the bustling city centre with the Royal Opera and some absolutely gorgeous buildings.
The run itself was exhilerating.
Not a long one, but enough to keep my motivated.
I was beginning to feel a little bored with running just before I broke my foot. I used to try and find excuses to avoid long runs.
But it feels oh so good to be back!
Wish me luck!”
Good luck, my dear friend, and it’s so good to have you back on your feet.
And now let’s have a look at Katha’s photos from her run:
Above, the Teatro Real – the opera house.
And below, two views of the Palacio Real, the royal palace.
Don’t miss Dave, finishing off with hill reps:
Inside Casa de Campo which, in Katha’s words, had a Delhi-Ridge-like feel:
There was even a peacock, to complete the Delhi vibe!
